Through ongoing generous donations to Tavistock Community Health Inc., the Board of Directors has purchased a new crash cart for the clinic. The new unit replaces a small, lesser-equipped unit that had been in service at the clinic for many years.
A crash cart is always fully stocked and holds all the supplies needed for small urgent care needs, for example, if you need stitches. It is portable so it can be quickly moved and used in any of the examination rooms in the clinic, allowing for faster health care.
The unit had been identified by the doctors and nursing staff as a needed piece of equipment at the clinic. It is said to have already for itself in terms of benefits to patients and staff.
It was purchased with personal donations from the TCHI Board of Directors for $1,200 excluding the cost of supplies.
Other current sources of donations include Raymer Financial which is generously donating proceeds from their golf tournament coming up on June 25. Proceeds will be used to purchase new workstations for the doctors. Scotiabank is also generously donating proceeds from their recent golf tournament. Bell Canada makes a $500 annual donation to the local clinic.
Personal donations are still coming in long after the fundraising campaign has ended. It is still possible to make “in memoriam” donations at funeral homes or bequests in your will. TCHI is a registered charity that provides receipts for income tax purposes.
Current donations can be used to help fund ongoing operating expenses or could be specifically directed to one-time expenses. For more information about TCHI, visit their web site at www.tchi.ca.
