Family Health Network
Effective July 1, 2004 the Tavistock family physicians officially restructured to become the Tavistock Family Health Network (FHN). This move was undertaken as a means of ensuring and sustaining quality health care in Tavistock and community.
Family Health Networks offer many benefits, such as:
- a formal system of preventative health care
- Telephone Health Advisory Service at 1-866-553-7205 … for details please refer to the “Our Patients – Hours of Operations” section of this website
- technology upgrades possible through FHN that allow for the centre to be fully computerized
Under the FHN arrangement patients are registered with the FHN. During the registration process a patient has to identify one physician as his or her principal physician. In reality the patient will be a patient of the group practice. If a patient needs immediate care during centre hours, he or she will be treated by the doctor on call.
